On the Tenth Day of December…

I relaxed.  I took a deep breath, sighed, and enjoyed the day.  I didn’t wrap, decorate, cook anything elaborate, plan, or even serve.

Today I was still and knew Who was my God.  I thanked the Lord for warm homes, warm friendships, and warm hearts.

I put my feet up, enjoyed the sound of my children’s laughter, and spent my time doing things I enjoy.

What is the point of having a holiday season… weeks of celebration, and not taking the time to sit back and enjoy the sights, scents, and sounds of this wonderous time.  It comes but once a year.  We spend much of our days looking forward to how we can bless others during this time.  So why do we allow ourselves to run ragged, get frazzled, and lose the true focus of the season?

Today, I did nothing.  I was thankful, I rested my heart in a babe who over two thousand years ago, spent his first hours in a feeding trough.

It is a wonderful day.
